The Yangon Stock Exchange saw 112,465 shares traded at a value of Ks401.83m in the month of March 2023.
This compares to February’s figures when 122,859 shares traded at a value of Ks381.69m, when trading volumes hit a four-month high.
February’s trading volume was 50.9% higher than the 81,410 shares traded in January although the value was only 8.2% higher at Ks382.69m from Ks353m.
First Myanmar Investment (FMI), Myanmar Thilawa SEZ Holdings (MTSH), Myanmar Citizens Bank (MCB), First Private Bank (FPB) and TMH Telecom (TMH) all saw their share prices fall slightly month-on-month, with FMI seeing its share price fall from Ks8,300 in February to Ks8,000 in March.
This is still higher than the Ks7,300 recorded in the August 2022 close, but a sharp fall from the Ks9,600 recorded in September’s close. FMI has now seen seven consecutive months in falling share prices.
Ever Flow River Group (EFR) and Amata Holding (AMATA) saw their share prices rise slightly month-on-month, from Ks2,600 to Ks2,650 and Ks4,900 to Ks5,000 respectively.
