BCUK adds 30 companies to boycott list

20 October 2023

Burma Campaign UK (BCUK) has updated its boycott list of products and services produced by companies owned by the Myanmar military.

BCUK noted that following feedback from international companies operating in Myanmar, it has added some company names in addition to products and services, to enable easier identification of Myanmar companies which BCUK advises they should avoid.

Compared to the previous update to the boycott list in March, the Five Star vessel Coco Gyun has been removed as it has been sold.

The new entries are:

  1. Star Sanitizing Spray
  2. Star Sanitizing Gel

BCUK says its boycott list names the products and brands of the military, enabling individuals, companies, organisations and governments to avoid purchasing goods and services from military companies. The full list can be found here.

The Boycott List is separate from BCUK’s “Dirty List”, as the latter lists international companies that BCUK identifies as doing business with the military, or projects linked to human rights violations or environmental destruction.
